KPK: Cianjur Regent Cut Funds for the Construction of Hundreds of Schools
Liputan Net. Jakarta, After the title of the outcome of the Hand-Catching Operation (OTT), the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspected Cianjur Regent Irvan Rivano Muchtar had cut funds for the construction of school facilities in Cianjur Regency, West Java.
"What is suspected of being cut is funds that should have been used to build facilities for hundreds of schools in Cianjur," said KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah via a text message on Wednesday (12/12).
Febri said that his side would fully deliver the results of the case at a press conference held tonight. However, Febri did not want to mention who was named the suspect in this case.
"The KPK will announce the results of OTT activities this morning in Cianjur," he said.
Earlier, KPK Deputy Chair Laode M Syarif said Cianjur Regent Irvan Rivano Muchtar was arrested along with five other people. From the location of the arrest, the KPK prosecution team also seized a total of Rp1.5 billion.
The KPK suspects that the money was collected from the principal to then be deposited with Irvan. The non-profit institution has received preliminary evidence of alleged bribery in the number one person in Cianjur Regency.
