5.2 Scale SR Earthquake Shakes Gorontalo

Suara press. Jakarta, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 on the Richter Scale struck Gorontalo on Saturday (12/15) morning at 2:27 a.m. WIB and did not cause a tsunami.

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) informed us that the quake was at a depth of 134 km at coordinates 0.12 LS-122.98 BT or 74 km Southwest Gorontalo.

Previously the earthquake also occurred in the South Coast, West Sumatra, Friday (12/14) night at 21.04 WIB with a strength of 4.1 on the Richter scale.


The earthquake in the South Coast occurs at a depth of 36 km under the sea, with the epicenter located at coordinates 1.75 LS and 100.53 BT or 40 km southwest of the South Coast. (age)
