Padang-Solok Line Can Be Crossed After Landslides Buried

Berita hub. Jakarta, Padang Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Yulmar Try Himawan said, the road connecting the city of Padang and Solok Regency was able to pass by the vehicle after being buried by landslide material on Thursday (1/13) night.

This transportation route that connects West Sumatra Province with Jambi on Friday (12/14) has been able to be passed by vehicles since 09.30 WIB.

According to Yulmar, the vehicle can be traversed by using an open and close system because there are still heavy equipment to clean the landslide material.


"We put officers on site to regulate vehicle traffic so that this route can be traversed by the public," he said on Friday (14/12).


Previously the route connecting the City of Padang with Solok Regency was cut off due to a landslide in the Sitinjau Lauik area on Thursday at around 22:30 WIB.

The landslide material covered the road body and cut off access to vehicles, both two-wheeled and four-wheeled because landslide material and fallen trees covered the road body.

In addition, landslide material is also known to drag three car units around the location.


The three cars that were dragged were the Family Raya Bus public transportation with thirty passengers, while the other two cars were mini buses, and one truck unit.

From the information on the West Sumatra BPBD there were five victims affected by the landslide. The details of one person died, the rest were injured. All victims were evacuated to Semen Padang Hospital. (osc)
